1. The CTET Shall apply to schools of the Central Government (KVS, NVS, Tibetan Schools, etc) and schools under the administrative control of Union Territory (UT) of Chandigarh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadeep, Daman & Diu, Dadra & Nagar Haveli and NCT of Delhi
2. CTET may also apply to the unaided private schools , who may exercise the option considering the CTET
3. Schools owned and managed by the State Government/Local bodies and aided schools shall considered by the State Government. However, , a state government can also consider the CBSE CTET if it decided not to conduct the State Teacher Eligibility Test (TET).
(Qualifying the CTET would not confer a right on any person for recruitment/ employment /job as it is only one of the eligibility criteria for appointment.)
Minimum Educational Qualification for becoming teacher for Class I-IV (Primary Stage):
Senior Secondary or equivalent with at least 50% marks or passed or appearing in final year of 2 years diploma in elementary education.
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2 years diploma in elementary education (by whatever name known) in accordance with
NCTE (recognized norms and procedure) , regulations 2002
Senior Secondary or its equivalent with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4 years Bachelor of elementary education (B.EI.ED)
Senior Secondary or its equivalent with at least 50 % marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2 years Diploma in Education
Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2 years diploma in elementary education. (by whatever name known)
